Positive habits for a better happier life
Happiness is that feeling that comes over you when you know life is good and you can’t help but smile. It’s the opposite of sadness. Happiness is a sense of well-being, joy, or contentment. When people are successful, or safe, or lucky, they feel happiness.
Every person is trying to achieve a happy and a positive life
Regardless of your version of true happiness, living a happier, more satisfied life is within reach.
A few tweaks to your regular habits can help massively to get you there!
Habits really do matter. If you’ve ever tried breaking a bad habit, you know all too well how engrained they are.
Well, good habits are deeply engrained, too.
Why not work on making positive habits part of your routine? That’s what I’ve done and it’s helped me greatly with my levels of happiness.
So I thought I jot down few positive life habits that will help you achieve a life full of happiness :
1 – Start the day with a positive mind-set :
We all know that if the start of the day is good then you give yourself a better chance of your whole day being energetic and good. Your plans and your actions immediately after waking up in the morning have a strong impact on your whole day, and here’s how you could start it:
– Exercise:
Spend some time to work out. At least 10-15 minutes of stretch and exercise will give you a positive energy and boost your body and mind with high energy level. I always say “Working out Works’
– Start with positive thinking:
Always hope for the best, and Start with enjoying the feelings of a wonderful day ahead, even if you can’t see how this can happen. I always think of 3 things I’m grateful for when I wake up…. It’s taken practice to think like this, so you gotta work at it.
– Review your goals and work towards achieving them:
When you are trying to be more effective, every decision that you make should be made keeping your goals in mind.
2 – Perform an act of kindness:
When was the last time you did some random act of kindness towards a person, like : Hold open a door, offer assistance, Bring in food or snacks for your office mates, Buy a small gift for someone. just because …,
On elf my favourite random acts to do, is to buy scratch cards and lotto tickets and leave them in random places for people to find!!
These little acts will make their day happier and they will remember it, but the great thing about this that it will lift you too!! Win Win!!
You never know they might reciprocate one day too..
3 – Give a genuine compliment :
Receiving a compliment which is spoken with sincerity always ramps up your “feel good” meter, you can instead of complimenting someones appearance compliment some inner qualities that the person you are complimenting has like :
– You are one of a kind :
when spoken in a positive light, it makes them feel and know that they have a very special place in your heart and that they are unlike others in one or many ways will always appreciate it,
– You are always there for me :
in this way you express your trust in someone and let her or him know that she or he can count on you, it makes them feel that they did their part of being a good friend/partner for you, and it lets them know that there is a shoulder to lean on during tough challenges which is always a good thing.
4 – Be grateful :
Gratitude is a warm feeling of thankfulness towards the world, universe or what ever you want to call it, or towards specific special person, it increases satisfaction, motivation, and energy, better sleep and health, and reduced stress and sadness.
Grateful people are much more engaged with their environment, leading to greater personal growth and self-acceptance, and stronger feelings of purpose, meaning, and specialness,
You can be grateful by :Keeping a Gratitude Journal, create a daily routine in which you remind yourself of the gifts, benefits, and good things you enjoy, remember the hard times that you once experienced. When you remember how difficult life used to be and how far you have come.
5 – Acknowledge the unhappy moments :
A positive attitude is generally a good thing, but bad things happen to everyone. It’s just part of life, If you get some bad news, make a mistake, or just feel like you’re in a dark place, don’t try to pretend you’re happy, look for solution that will help you get through your problems and always try to stay positive an hope for the best, and try changing your routine, go exercise and clear you mind, go for a walk, go meet a friend, Let the moment pass and take care of yourself. Remember, no one’s happy all the time.
But never be afraid to ask for help… asking for help is because you wish to remain strong, it’s NOT a sign of weakness!1
6 – Have a good laugh :
I’m not big on watching tv but I am in the habit of watching something funny if I am going to watch it!
You can go watch a comedy, or meet a funny friend, listen to a funny podcast—or work on projects that are important to you—I’m not one of those people who argue that you shouldn’t watch any TV.
Just make sure that you’re watching shows that you really enjoy, and Make a resolution, or set the intent, of laughing heartily as often as you can, and always remember to smile because Smiling boosts your immune system.
Did you know that your whole body relaxes when you smile. 🙂
When you’re in a bad mood, smile. Even if you don’t feel like it, because it will immediately improve your mood, Smiles are contagious, You’ll relieve stress because smiling is a good thing,
7 – Try to eat a healthy breakfast in the morning no matter what :
Many studies have shown the health benefits of eating breakfast. It improves your energy levels and ability to concentrate in the short term, and can help with better weight management, because you get Essential Nutrients, Help Your Heart, and makes you Less Likely to Develop Eating Disorders, also apparently Improves Your Skin and Stabilises your Energy Levels.
My go to healthy brekky is Natural Yogurt with Blueberries, Strawberries and a drizzle of honey.
Ii always guzzle a load of water then I feel like I’ve earned my coffee 😉
8 – Stay physically active :
We have all heard it many times before – regular exercise is good for you, and it can help you lose weight. But you might be busy, or you have a sedentary job, and you haven’t yet changed your exercise habits.
The good news is that it’s never too late to start. You can start slowly, consistency is key here, find ways to fit more physical activity into your life.
You can start with easy exercises that help clear your mind and keep you happy and active because it : Help you control your weight, Reduce your risk of heart disease, Help your body manage blood sugar and insulin levels, Improve your mental health and mood, Help keep your thinking, learning, and judgment skills sharp as you age.
9 – Reward yourself
It’s important to reward yourself, as soon as you complete a key task or objective. Why? By rewarding yourself in the moment, your brain elicits positive emotions, leading to the realisation that your efforts result in a positive reward.
You can reward yourself in so may ways:
Buying Yourself Something Nice, Going to the movies with friends and family, go out for a coffee or go on a fancy date, go watch your favourite sport take a vacation and travel whatever floats your boat!
10 – Get plenty of sleep :
No matter how much modern society steers us toward less sleep, gotta hustle right!! Errr no not all the time, I’m more for blocks of focused work rather than 14 hours at my desk.
We know that adequate sleep is vital Source to good health, brain function, and emotional well-being, you should at least sleep for 7 hours because it Keeps Your Heart Healthy, Reduces Stress, May some say Help Prevent Cancer, Makes You More Alert, Improves Your Memory, Sleep May Reduce Your Risk of Depression, Sleep Helps the Body Repair Itself, Sleep is a time to relax, but it’s also a time during which the body is hard at work repairing damage caused by stress, and other harmful exposure.
